Tigernut milk drink is popular in many countries, i.e. Spain - but most importantly in West African countries. Together with professional manufacturing and marketing specialists in Malaysia, and very knowledgable and experienced local beverage managers in Ghana, we have developed this drink. Tigernut milk drink is not new, it is home-made frequently in West Africa, but based on sincere research we managed to develop a formula usuable for manufacturing the tigernut milk drink, not just for short period home consumption, but for international commercial use; with a shelf life of 18 months. While applying factory manufacturing it was our prime objective keeping the well known traditional tigernut plant benefits in the drink - for enjoying tigernut milk drink on a daily basis.

Tigernuts field and plant

Tigernuts (botanical name: Cyperus Esculentus) are well know since ancient Egypt times for their health benefits. They are not nuts, but tubers, growing in the ground. The name comes from their look - seem to have "tigerlike" stripes on their tubers.
In our days they are becoming more and more attraction based on the nutritional benefits they provide, sometimes describes as "The New Superfood".

Tigernuts sorting and packing

After harvesting, tigernuts are sun-dried for maintaining food stability for further processing. The sun-dried tigernuts are thoroughly sorted and cleaned, separated from dried weeds and other field plants, and then packed into clean bags for shipping to drink manufacturing facilities.

Tigernuts shipping and quality checking

Packed in clean bags, the sun-dried tigernuts are loaded into protected containers, in order to avoid humidity and molding.
At arrival at destination the bags still inside the container are randomly examined for any transport damages, then further analysed in the manufactorer's laboratory.
